Facile win for Sainik School

NEW DELHI: Sainik School, Imphal, defeated Raja Bhoj School, Bhopal, 3-0 in the Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday. The goals came through Kesto, Radhe and Boboy.

In the second match, NCC, Aizawl, beat St. Augustine's School, Navi Mumbai 8-0. Lalchhuanmawla and Lalthlangliana scored three goals each while Lathlimpula netted two.

In another contest BSL, Bokaro, overcame St. Xavier's School, Goa, 7-0. Denny and Dipankar contributed two goals each while Meesam, Krishna and Ashaful completed the tally.

In the last encounter of the day, Noble Academy, Nepal, beat Free Progress Academy, Imphal, 4-0. Chetan scored twice while Bharat and Ranjit once each.

Easy for Ganga International

Ganga International School defeated Bal Bharti Public School, Pirampura, by seven wickets in the Himalaya Chavanprash Cup inter-school under-15 cricket tournament here. In another match, Ramjas School beat Ravindra Public School by six runs.

The scores: BBPS 58 in 28.1 overs (Raghavender Singh three for nine, Bhupender Yadav three for 11) lost to Ganga International 59 for three in 13.4 overs (Jaideep Chauhan 30 not out).

Ramjas 144 for in 20 overs (Harender Singh 40, Rohit Kumar 34, Ashish Yadav three for 23) beat RPS 138 in 19.4 overs (Chander Thapa 38, Abhishek Gotwal 30, Harjinder Sejwal four for 11, Sachin Saraswat three for 26).

Inter-school golf

The Delhi State inter-school golf championship tees off at the Qutab Golf Course here on Tuesday. The two-day strokeplay event is part of the National all-India school championship, aimed to find an Indian school team for the UK School Golf Foundation championship at Sunningdale, England.
