Close on the heels of the sordid BCCI election drama in Kolkata comes the controversy over Indian cricket team coach Greg Chappell's email against Sourav Ganguly. The episode does not deserve front-page treatment in a serious newspaper such as The Hindu. Chappell's photo should have been where it deserves to be on the sports page.

Most newspapers and television channels have given undue coverage first, to the BCCI election row, and now to the Chappell-Ganguly spat when there are other major issues of interest to the public.
