ISLAMABAD: A high-level Indian delegation led by the Director General, Civil Aviation, is arriving here on Monday for talks with their Pakistan counterparts to review the Air Services Agreement to enhance air links between the two countries. The proposals on the table include permitting private airlines to operate between the two countries and increasing flight routes. Currently, airlines operate flights in the Lahore-New Delhi and Karachi-Mumbai sectors. Pakistan proposes to include new routes like Chennai-Hyderabad for Pakistan International Airlines. Tuesday's meeting here will start a series of bilateral talks on a number of subjects. At least 30 meetings are envisaged between now and the year-end. A delegation of Pakistan officials headed by the Additional Secretary of Communications, Muhammad Abbad, will be in New Delhi on Monday to hold the final round of technical talks on the proposed Amritsar-Lahore and Amritsar-Nankanasahib bus services.
