Friendly Fire wins chief event

Hyderabad: Mr. L. D'Silva, Miss Ameeta Mehra and Mr. K.S.N. Murthy's Friendly Fire (Suraj Narredu up) won the S.N. Reddy Memorial Cup, the chief event of Sunday's races. The winner is trained by L. D'Silva.

The Hindu has cleared the Hyderabad race card by tipping all first choices in all races.

Fines

In the S.N. Reddy Memorial, trainer Laxman Singh was fined Rs. 1,000 for failing to exercise sufficient care in the saddling of his charge Sarfaroosh (Deep Shanker) whose saddle slipped forward during the race.

In the Raja Saheb of Challapalli Memorial Cup, jockey A. Abhinay (Light Cannon) was fined Rs. 500 for shifting in at about 1,000m taking the ground of Pleasure Way (N. Rawal) and again shifted in at about 900m causing interference to Royal Grey (R.B. Shinde).

In the 13th day's races (September 5, 2005), in the Nizamabad Plate (1,400m) Category II race, the Stewards having considered the findings of the Stipendiary Stewards have resolved to suspend jockey K. Suresh, rider of Royal View, from riding in races upto and including October 9, 2005, for riding an over-confident race in that jockey Suresh eased up his mount before passing the winning post, thereby losing the race.
