Boy falls to death
from third floor
According to police, the boy, K.Gokula Kannan, was playing on the third floor at a construction site on Lattice Bridge Road, when he fell to the ground at 11.15 a.m.. He was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital, from where he was referred to the Government General Hospital. However, the boy died around 2 p.m., police said. Tiruvanmiyur police have registered a case under section 174 (unnatural death) and are investigating.
Minister's driver knocked down
The police said that the victim was returning home in the night when the accident occurred. After alighting from a bus he was walking towards his house when the two-wheeler hit him from behind. Nallasivam fell on the road and sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The two-wheeler rider fled, abandoning the vehicle. Thorappakkam police have registered a case and are investigating.
