Autographed bats, just a click away
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
Autographed cricket bats bearing your favourite cricketer's signature may be just a click away. The bats are on auction and the proceeds will fund charitable causes. eBay India, an online marketplace and non-profit public charitable trust Concern India Foundation, presents cricket lovers an opportunity to possess a bat autographed by stars.
The Collector's edition bats went under the gavel on eBay on Monday. The auction will be on till September 30. The five autographed bats on auction may be viewed on www.eBay.in/charity.
Some of the bats bear the signature of just one cricketer. For instance, Rahul Dravid autographed a bat to support the foundation during the Bangalore test in March 2005. The entire Indian team autographed a bat for the same organisation during the Kanpur one-day international in April 2005.
At Hyderabad, Rahul Dravid, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar and Rajesh Pawar signed a bat. At the Bangalore test match in April 2005, the Indian team signed a bat.
The Pakistan team, led by captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, signed a bat during the Bangalore match in April 2005.
