Solatium announced

CHENNAI: The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, on Saturday announced a solatium of Rs. 50,000 to Raju, who lost vision in one of his eyes, after an electrical post fell on him at Anna Nagar last week.

An official release said on hearing about the loss of vision and injuries suffered by Mr. Raju, the Chief Minister wished him speedy recovery and also ordered that the solatium should be given to him from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund, the release added.

IDBI subsidiary office opened

IDBI Home Finance Ltd (IHFL), a fully-owned subsidiary of IDBI Ltd, has opened a satellite office in Tambaram-Velachery Road, Medavakkam. MD &CEO of the company Melwyn Rego inaugurated the branch on Friday.

Seminar on cancer

College gets ISO certificate

Dhanraj Baid Jain College was presented with the ISO 9001:2000 certificate by the International Certification Services on Thursday at Deccan Plaza. Harish L Matha, Secretary and Correspondent of the college, received the award.

Notebooks distributed
