Vihari stars in Sayi Sathya's win

HYDERABAD: Vihari (93, 15x4) helped Sayi Sathya record a 104-run win against Chums XI in the inter-schools league cricket championship here on Sunday.

The scores:

Schools league: Sayi Sathya 200 for seven (G.H. Vihari 93) bt Chums XI 96 (Karthik 35, P.B. Parashar four for 18, Vinay Rao three for six).

Navjeevan Friends 59 (Ramesh three for 22, B. Sandeep three for six) lost to St. Andrews 60 for two.

Adams XI 169 for seven (B. Anirudh 51, Srosht Dasarathi 30, Nithesh four for 47) bt Hyderabad Wanderers 80 (Sai Jagadish four for 18, Aklash Bhandari three for 23).

Mahbub College HS 111 (Anand Babu 52, Rahul Ranout four for 33, Rayan Kaundinya four for 40) lost to Khammam 112 for one (Naveen Kumar 33, Rayan Kaundinya 69 not out).

The Hindu-Eenadu wins

Krishna Rao (49) helped The Hindu-Eenadu XI beat State Bank of Hyderabad `B' by six wickets in the pre-quarterfinals of the Hero Honda Glamour day-night corporate cricket cup tournament on Sunday.

The scores: pre-quarterfinals:

State Bank of Hyderabad (B) 139 (Shakeel 41) lost to The Hindu-Eenadu 140 for four (Krishna Rao 49).

Hockey selections

The Hyderabad Hockey Association will conduct selection trials at Gymkhana grounds on Sept. 13 at 7 a.m. to pick its team for the under-16 inter-zonal tournament to be played in Amritsar. For further details contact the HHA office on 27905190.
