CHIRALA: "Implementation of Rural Development works in Andhra Pradesh is satisfactory compared to other States like Bihar,'' says B.C. Biswas, National Monitor, Union Ministry of Rural Development, New Delhi. Mr. Biswas, who visited some of the villages like Ipurupalem panchayat and Boyinavaripalem in Prakasam district on Friday, told pressmen that he was satisfied with the execution of the works and quality of material used for roads, drains and individual sanitary latrines. However, he advised Panchayat Raj Engineers to put up display boards showing the quantity and quality of work with the names of the contractors instead of the names of politicians to maintain transparency in work so that public can question the contractors in case of poor quality of work. He also advised the officials to cover the drains in villages to prevent accidents.
