Retired teacher murdered

MADURAI: A retired teacher was murdered at Jothinayakkanur village in the district on Saturday night.

According to police sources, I. George Samuel (63) was sleeping near his house when A. Mokkasamy (55) of the same area clubbed him to death.

Previous enmity was suspected to be the cause of the murder.

The accused was taken into custody. The Ezhumalai police have registered a case.
