VISAKHAPATNAM: The 1001st TVS Star motorcycle was delivered in the city by Telugu film actor Srikant here on Thursday.
Talking to mediapersons before the function, the TVS Motor Company's general manager (sales), R. Dilip, hoped that the four-stroke 100 cc economy segment TVS Star, with a strong and sturdy body and giving a high mileage of 95 km. per litre at a low price of Rs.32,650, would cross the 2,000 mark in the city when the season started in September-October this year.
The TVS Star had crossed the one lakh mark in the country in five months, he said.
Claiming that about one lakh two-wheelers were produced by the company every month, he said that the company had absolutely no competition in the moped segment with a 95 per cent share in the market.
The market share for two-wheelers in general was around 20 per cent in the State as well as at the national-level, he stated.
The company's area manager, R. Balaji, was present at the media conference.
