CHENNAI: The National University of Singapore has awarded 40 Indian students the Singapore Airlines-Neptune Orient Lines Undergraduate Scholarship. Over a decade old, the scholarship is on offer to deserving foreign students. They should have completed their class 12 exams or the equivalent from the science stream, have an impressive track record of participation in extra-curricular activities and have attended selection interviews conducted in India. Each year, 40 scholarships are awarded. The scholarship covers tuition and all compulsory fees and a one-off settling in allowance, an accommodation allowance, an annual living allowance and a one-way air passage from the home country to Singapore at the beginning of the course of study and a one-way back to the home country at the end of the course. The scholarship is valid for studies in computing, engineering, and science (besides pharmacy). The scholars will have to serve a six-year bond with the sponsoring company, its subsidiaries or other approved Singapore-registered firms.
