HYDERABAD: A special party of the Transport Department seized two private buses with similar number plates. The Transport Minister, S. Santosh Reddy, told reporters that the buses, both bearing the registration number AP 7 X 9999, belong to an operator in Guntur district. The operation to seize the vehicles was launched by a special party led by the Deputy Transport Commissioner, P. Srinivas.
The Transport Commissioner, Rajeshwar Tiwari, and other senior officials were present. He said a team seized one bus at 11.30 p.m. while it was leaving Hyderabad while another intercepted the other bus while it was entering city limits at 5.30 a.m.
A case was lodged with the police against the owner and he would be prosecuted for violating the APMV Act.
