BANGALORE: It is time to discard the score sheets and log onto computers. The BCCI is all set to unveil the computerised scoring system in the forthcoming first-class season. And in keeping with the Board's wishes, a two-day workshop on computer scoring commenced at the Chinnaswamy Stadium premises here on Saturday. The coach of the Indian cricket team, Greg Chappell, inaugurated the session and said, "you cannot have cricket without scorers and I welcome this latest development of using technology to help the scorers with their jobs." The two-day course features 42 scorers representing all State Associations. The scorers will be taught `Scorite,' software developed by Stumpvision, which will aid them in recording every statistic during a cricket match. The Association of Cricket Scorers and Statisticians in India (ACSSI) is conducting the course. — Sports Reporter
