Ajay, J. Vaishnavi win

TIRUCHI: Ajay Srikanth of Chennai and J. Vaishnavi of Tiruchi with 9 and 10 points won the boys' and the girls' titles respectively at the 18th Tamil Nadu state under-11 years chess championship, conducted by the BHEL Community Centre, which concluded here on Sunday.

Ajay Srikanth, won the boys' title, despite losing the final round to S. Sridev of Coimbatore.

Both Srikanth and Sridev had tallied nine points and based on the progressive score, Srikanth was declared winner.

While P. Lokesh (8.5) finished third, S. Anandraj (8) was placed fourth.

In the girls' category, the top four places were won by J. Vaishnavi (10), G. Madhu of Chennai (9), R. Aarthy Sri (8) and J. Saranya (8).
