NEW DELHI: The Liberhan Commission, probing the demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya,concluded the recording of evidence on Friday with the examination of the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh. The Commissionis expected to submit its report by June 30, when its term expires.
Plea to summon Advani
On the request for summoning the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and recalling Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani, Justice Liberhan, in its final sitting, said the plea would be considered while writing the interim report. "If the Commission thinks that there is a necessity to call them, it will do the needful. Otherwise in the interim report it will be said the two BJP leaders were not required." He granted time till June 25 for the parties to submit written statements, if any.S
