VIJAYAWADA: The Anti-Goonda Squad on Wednesday arrested Kota Srilakshmi (23), a resident of Nuzvid, on the charge of having connections with the CPI (Maoist) party and working as an underground courier. Addressing a press conference, the inspector, G.V. Ramana Murthy, said Srilakshmi was arrested near the RTC bus station and would be handed over to the Guntur police. He said Srilakshmi had worked with the Veldurthi dalam of the then PW naxalites till 1999 Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee demanded that the police release Srilakshmi as she was leading a normal life and did not have connections with Maoists.
