Commodity prices

The following were the prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Wednesday: Groundnut oil - 50, palmolein oil - 39, sunflower oil - 47, tamarind (flower variety) - 20 to 28, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 42 to 46, chillies (new) - 13 to 14, rice (2716) - 13, rice (superfine) - 15, rice (sona masoori) - 17 to 19, rice (samba masoori) - 15 to 17, black gram - 23 to 26, red gram - 23 to 28.

Applications invited

The VMC is inviting applications from the unemployed youth for providing financial assistance under "Rajeev Yuva Shakti" self-employment scheme. The VMC has decided to provide financial assistance for 728 units through banks. Application forms will be available at the UCD cell of the VMC. Last date for submission of forms is May 31.
