HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting S. Jaipal Reddy has expressed shock at the sudden demise of the Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Sunil Dutt.

In a condolence message released here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said Sunil Dutt's death was a loss not only to the film world but also to the political world.

"The country has lost a great actor, a true Gandhian and a gentleman politician," he said.

"Through his padayatras, he promoted peace in the country. Recently, he took part in the great Dandi march. As Minister, he encouraged youth in the field of sports," Mr. Reddy said.
