ERODE:
Six more panchayat members today tendered their resignations in protest against the Government not allowing water from the Parambikulam Aliyar Project (PAP) reservoir to the Upparu Reservoir. All belonged to the Kannankoil panchayat in the Kundadam panchayat union in Dharapuram taluk. The Upparu Reservoir is located near Dharapuram and people from ten panchayat areas are benefited from it. On April 8, the Thoppampatty panchayat president, Raju, the Nanjiyampalayam panchayat president, Balu, and 23 other panchayat members had tendered their resignations.
