Laudable

This refers to the editorial, `Boost for Indian language computing' (April 18). The steps taken by the Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Dayanidhi Maran, regarding free software and tools for Tamil computing is laudable. Given our tendency to ape Western habits it is necessary to save our languages and culture.
