Letters to the Editor
This refers to the article, `Fear of foreigners in Britain' (April 19). Anyone following the British election campaign will be familiar with statements such as "simply too many of them around," "allegedly living off state benefits," "destroying the British way of life," and "putting pressure on public services." Let Britons first clarify how much GNP the immigrants have generated for Britain and how much they are hiving off the share of British public wealth? Of course, all this does not deter Labour MPs from seeking votes from the immigrants.
