MADURAI, APRIL 5. One person was hacked to death and his son seriously injured when a gang attacked them at Perungamanallur near Sedapatti today. According to police, the eight-member gang assaulted P. Rasu Thevar (60) and his son R. Chandran (35) when they were working in their field. While Rasu Thevar died on the spot, his son was rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital. His condition is said to be critical. A land dispute within the family is suspected to be the cause.
