Some hot offers at BJP headquarters

NEW DELHI, MARCH. 1. Now on sale at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters here are formula preparations from cow waste, promising a cure for ailments ranging from toothache to cancer.

A Goratna stall has been set up at the BJP's Ashoka Road office here, displaying low-cost syrups, pills and lotions made from cow dung and urine.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist Manoj Kumar sells cow products alongside a range of BJP souvenirs in the plush compound of the tightly-guarded party headquarters situated on premises provided by the Union Government.

He knows his clients — most of them are BJP workers — and seals deals the old-fashioned guy's way, with a handshake and a smile.

Mr. Kumar, a graduate in Commerce, declares the indigenous remedies to be a cure for diabetes, asthma, skin disease, constipation and even cancer.

"All these products are from the Kanpur Gaushala Society. We started selling them just a week ago, but the response is overwhelming."

Among the hot-sellers is a low-cost multi-purpose pill, which he claimed can cure cancer and diabetes. Another is the Sanjivani Ark, a Rs. 80-potion made of filtered cow urine. The Ark, said Mr. Kumar, was in great demand because of its cancer-curing abilities. "It is also an effective cure for irregular periods in women," he claimed.

The products include cosmetics, detergents, soap and cow urine aftershave lotions.

Goratna Medohari Ark can reduce obesity and Goratna Kala Tel (oil) can battle arthritis well, Mr Kumar said. — UNI
