NEW DELHI, FEB. 28. A Delhi court today remanded to judicial custody till March 14, a lawyer who allegedly cheated investors in his financial firms to the tune of Rs ten crore. Metropolitan Magistrate Dig Vinay Singh remanded lawyer Kuldip Mansukhani after he surrendered before the court. The court had earlier asked the accused to surrender on February 26 but he filed a bail application before the Additional Sessions Judge S L Bhayana who deferred hearing on the plea asking him to first surrender before the Magistrate court. As per the complaint filed by 59 investors, the accused, after floating two companies in 1993 under the names of K M Capitals and Bhuria Financial Services, invited deposits from public at high rates of interests and after its maturity, allegedly did not return the amounts. The investors alleged they were duped to the tune of Rs ten crore. Police lodged FIRs against Mansukhani in 1998, 2000 and 2004 after he allegedly closed the companies and absconded. The accused has been charged with Criminal Breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and cheating.
