Pune University wins

TIRUNELVELI, JAN. 10. Pune University beat Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, 64-32 for its second win in Pool B quarterfinal league and qualified for the semifinals of the all-India inter-zone inter-university women's kabaddi tournament at VOC Stadium, Palayamkottai, here on Monday.

Both the teams finished their fixtures in the league and Maharishi Dayanand made its exit from the tournament as it had only one win to its credit. The other two teams in this pool. Kurukshetra, with two wins and Nagarjuna with out a win, will figure in the last match of the league. Kurukshetra has already qualified for the semifinals and the meeting between these two will decide the winner of this pool only, as Nagarjuna had already lost the race.

In another inconsequential match in Pool A, Delhi beat Shivaji 42-26 for its first win. Mumbai and Guru Nanak Dev had already qualified for the semifinals from this pool with two wins each and the meeting between these teams in the last match will decide only the winner of this pool.
