Vinod, Pradeepa claim titles

CHENNAI, NOV. 21. Fancied G. Vinod (Southern Railway) encountered little resistance from N. Senthil (ICF) to win 13-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-6 in the men's final of the Indian Bank-State table tennis championship, which concluded at the University Union Stadium, here on Sunday.

T. Pradeepa (Indian Oil Corporation) won her fourth successive State championship title with a hard-fought 11-3, 4-11, 11-9, 3-11, 11-9, 11-9 win over K. Shamini (Indian Bank) in the women's summit clash.

The results: Men (final): G. Vinod (S. Rly) bt N. Senthil (ICF) 13-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-6.

Semifinals: Vinod bt Selvamuthukumaran (YMIA-M) 11-5, 11-6, 11-8, 11-6; Senthil bt K. Srivatsa (AGORC) 7-11, 5-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3, 11-6.

Quarterfinals: Senthil bt A. Rajath Kamal (IB) 11-7, 11-6, 11-5, 14-12; Srivatsa bt R.S. Raja (Medimix) 11-8, 11-5, 11-5, 11-6; Selvamuthukumaran bt Sivananda Seshadri (IB) 12-10, 11-7, 11-8, 11-8; Vinod bt M. Subash (IB) 11-6, 6-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-2.
