Driver's arrest sparks bus strike

By Our Staff Reporter

KOCHI, OCT. 7. Private buses operating from Aluva went on a lightning strike following the arrest of the driver of a bus this morning.

According to the police, the driver of a bus, Ajeesh, 24, of Pookattupadi, was stopped for violating traffic as he drove on the wrong side.

However, he resisted the police action and was arrested following a minor scuffle. Bus operators stopped their services soon after the arrest.

The service resumed around 3 p.m. after Ajeesh was released from custody.

The Aluva police have registered a case against him for obstructing the policeman from carrying out his duty.
