Sorry sight on last day of stir

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI, OCT. 7. Both the in and out-patients were left high and dry with the doctors of the Govt-SVRR Hospital and Govt Maternity Hospital here boycotting their duties for the third consecutive day today protesting against the attack on Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad. Even emergency services were disrupted till evening, when the announcement came that the stir was being called off from tomorrow.

Women with kids in their arms waited behind closed gates or were seen loitering around in both the hospitals. Many aged patients, badly in need of medical care were seen wobbling out of the hospital portals unattended, as the `emergency' as well as the OP blocks did not function. Doctors, house-surgeons, junior doctors and medicos en masse stayed out in the wake of the strike.

TTD's superspecialities hospital, SVIMS however worked without any interruption.
