GURGAON, OCT. 1. The seventh-seeded Preethi Subramaniam continued with her good run and ousted the second-seeded Sandri Gangothri 6-4, 6-0 to move into the girls' final of the Adidas ITF grade `IV' junior tennis tournament at the NTA Complex here on Friday. The 17-year-old Preethi, who had recently won a title in Sri Lanka, will face the top-seeded Sandhya Nagaraj in the final. Sandhya beat the third-seeded G.K. Shweta in straight sets in the other semifinal. Sandhya in partnership with Vandana Murali had to slog for more than three hours in beating Shweta and Preethi Subramaniam in the doubles final. In the boys' section, Rohan Gide set up his second successive title clash with Vivek Shokeen. The latter had won the title last week in Mumbai, beating Gide in straight sets, and will be keen to add one more to his collection.
The results: Boys (semifinals): Rohan Gide bt Anshuman Dutta 6-2, 6-2; Vivek Shokeen bt Tejasvi Rao 6-1, 6-1. Doubles (final): Sumit Prakash Gupta and Anshuman Dutta bt Rohan Gide and Tejasvi Rao 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. Girls (semifinals): Sandhya Nagaraj bt G.K. Shweta 6-2, 6-4; Preethi Subramaniam bt Sandri Gangothri 6-4, 6-0. Doubles (final): Sandhya Nagaraj and Vandana Murali bt G.K. Shweta and Preethi Subramaniam 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4.
