ADE wins amidst ugly scenes

BANGALORE, SEPT. 13 . ADE registered a 4-3 win over Government Press in a bad-tempered Super Division Football League match here on Monday.

The high-tension game was set for a thrilling finish when things began sour in the last quarter of the match.

In a space of few minutes, two Government Press players — goalkeeper Kupparaj and Premkumar, were red-carded, even as a few of their team-mates busied themselves by picking up a fight with the spectators.

There were yellow card bookings on Vincent Marie and Rahman as well.

Order was restored only after some BDFA officials intervened and pacified both sides.

The Press, down 3-4 with a few minutes to go for full-time, left the pitch, following which referee Balu blew the long whistle and awarded the match to ADE.

The BDFA has made it clear that it will take action against the Government Press team only after the referee submits his report on the match.

Shankar, Sajid, Arun Kumar and Murali scored for the victor while Anthony, Sudhakar and Mani Maran scored for Government Press.

In an `A' division match, BWSSB beat Army 6-2.
