SBI blanks Royal Club

HYDERABAD, AUG. 8. State Bank of India outplayed Royal Club 6-0 in the fourth Justice K. Madhava Reddy Memorial hockey tournament at Begumpet Police Stadium here on Sunday.

The Bank forwardline showed wonderful coordination, with Jude Lazarus excelling in the role of schemer and feeding wingers, Gyan Chand and Chandrakumar, with some precise passes.

SBI took the lead in the very second minute when Surender Singh found the target.

Soon, Jude Lazarus made it 2-0 in the sixth minute. Surender Singh struck again in the 16th minute to make it 3-0.

In the second session, the Bankmen continued to dominate, scoring thrice more through Gyan Chand in the 37th minute, Nagaraj in the 40th and Chandrakumar in the 45th.
