Farmers' group sets `deadline'
By Our Staff Correspondent
HASSAN,
JULY 14.
The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) today criticised the Government for the delay in settling the crop insurance claims of farmers, and said that farmers from all over the State would "lay siege" to the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh's residence on August 2 if the claims are not settled immediately. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the KRRS General Secretary, Kodihalli Chandrashekar, accused the Government of neglecting the agrarian crisis, and said that the Congress-JD(S) Government was "continuing the anti-farmer attitude" of the previous government.
