Supreme Court Judge retires

NEW DELHI, JULY 1. Justice Doraiswamy Raju, Judge of the Supreme Court, today retired from service. He was elevated to the Supreme Court in January 28, 2000.

Prior to his elevation he was the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, and earlier a Judge of the Madras High Court for nearly a decade.

With his retirement, the strength of Judges in the apex court has come down to 22 as against the sanctioned strength of 26.
