Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Election Commission's move to stop Narendra Modi's yatra comes as a surprise. When the yatra has covered almost 80 per cent of the 200-km route and similar yatras by L.K. Advani and S.M. Krishna were allowed, why ban Mr. Modi's yatra? A uniform stand should be taken on such issues.
Sir, Responsible people, who are supposed to be spending time on more important matters of state, are undertaking yatras for cultivating vote-banks. Besides the money spent on the security arrangements of the yatras of Mr. Advani and Mr. Krishna, they also cause tremendous inconvenience to local residents.
