Notices on pathetic state of boys' home

NEW DELHI, FEB. 25. The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the city Government's Chief Secretary, Director of the Social Welfare Government and Superintendent of a Boys' Observation Home here following a newspaper report on the ``pathetic condition'' of the Home's inmates.

A Division Bench of Justice D K Jain and Justice A K Sikri, which took suo motu cognizance of a newspaper report, also asked the Juvenile Justice Board to send a copy of its report/finding given pursuant to a survey conducted by it.

The respondents have been asked to file their replies by March 10, the next date of hearing.

According to the report published in an English daily on February 10, the condition of the inmates of the Observation Home for Boys at Majnu Ka Tila in North Delhi, was ``pathetic''.
