Cheruvatur, Kumar share the spoils

CHENNAI, FEB. 18. Sony Cheruvatur (five for 3) and Anil Kumar (five for 14) starred in SBT's 10-wicket win over UTI in the IBA-BSB inter-bank (Southern Region) cricket tournament today.

The scores: Central Bank 116 for eight in 30 overs (G.V. Ashok Kumar 31, Shafiullah 27, N. Lokesh three for 17, S. Madhavan three for 29) lost to RBI 119 for no loss in 9.1 overs (Rajasekar 83 not out, Kamakshi Pandian 29 not out).

UTI 24 in 9.5 overs (Sony Cheruvatur five for 3, Anil Kumar five for 14) lost to SBT 28 for no loss in 2.4 overs.

Canara Bank 191 for nine in 30 overs (G.K. Anil Kumar 53, Pawan Gargi 61, C. Raghu 38, K. Chakradar Rao three for 32) lost to Indian Bank 192 for five in 30 overs (C.K. Suresh 33, Sabeer Pasha 58, R.G. Shyam Sundaar 30, C. Raghu three for 42).

IOB 206 for seven in 30 overs (Noorul Riaz 54, Y. Gnaneswar Rao 46, Srikumar Nair 49, K.S. Shahabudin 29) bt SBM 155 in 26 overs (Vijay Madvalkhar 40, Thilak Naidu 46, P.V. Rajesh three for 34).
