Sir, The passing of the dual citizenship bill by Parliament has fulfilled the longstanding demand of the non-resident Indian community. The onus is now on the NRIs to participate more in various sectors than merely park their funds in Indian banks, appear on page three of newspapers and invest in the software sector. Their investment and expertise should benefit the rural and infrastructure sectors.

Sir, The grant of dual citizenship is indeed a positive step. But the Government should also give the same attention to the needs of its citizens in the Middle East. In fact, these are the people who have added and are still adding to the Indian GDP and are sure to return after retirement.
