Once he gauged his diminutive opponent across the net, the 17-year-old Karan cut through with clinical precision 6-4, 6-0. Karan takes on the 61st ranked Chu-Huan Yi of Chinese Taiepi, a talented stroke-maker who serves hard, with the familiar force, craft and direction of a left-hander. Yi overcame a fighting Tushar Liberhan 7-6 (10-8), 4-6, 6-4.
