Indira Gandhi prize 2003 for Kofi Annan

NEW DELHI NOV. 19. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust has decided to confer the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Development and Disarmament for the year 2003 on the United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

This was announced here today by K. Natwar Singh in his capacity as chairman of the jury of the Prize Award Committee on the occasion of the conferment of the Indira Gandhi prize for the year 2002 on the former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shridath Ramphal.

The award will be presented to Mr. Annan on November 19, birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, next year.
