BrahMos flight-tested

Balasore Oct. 29. The fourth flight test of the BrahMos, the supersonic cruise missile, was successfully conducted from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea, about 13 km from here, today.

The missile roared into the sky at 11.20 a.m.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) sources said that this flight had the primary objective of establishing precision-guidance capability in surface-to-surface version. The flight trial had met all the mission objectives, they said.

The BrahMos is the first and only supersonic cruise missile that uses liquid ram jet technology.
