All-woman squad for World meet

NEW DELHI AUG. 11. A seven-member, all-woman, Indian team will participate in the World athletics championships to be held in Paris from August 23 to 31.

The team consists of Anju B. George (long jump), Neelam J. Singh (discus), S. Geetha, Mukti Saha, Sagardeep Kaur, Kalpana Reddy and Manjeet Kaur (4x400m relay). Jaswant Singh and Robert Bobby George are the coaches.

Anju and Neelam have achieved the qualification standards prescribed by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) while there is no norm for the relays.

Anju is at present in Europe, after having finished her competitions in the Grand Prix circuit, and would be in Paris before the rest of the team leaves from here on August 20.
