Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the context of the Cola furore, I would like to draw attention to the massive use of pesticides to increase agricultural output without any scientific plan. High traces will certainly be present in the cereals, vegetables and fruits that we consume daily. There is no doubt that bottled soft drinks/ mineral water are marketed purely for commercial gain. But raising a hue and cry as if everything else is perfect is a joke.
R. Kumar,
Sir, Indians, by and large, are not quality conscious. Though there has been a wide debate on the Cola controversy, what about the vegetables, masalas and other things used for cooking? Where is the effective mechanism to check adulteration?
Raju Saravanan,
