The head of the Japanese delegation and the visiting Professor of Tama University Renaissance Centre, Ikuo Yasuda, told mediapersons that the capital city was selected for the visit along with Delhi and Bangalore as a study had revealed that the quality of labour and cash inflow were the main positive factors of the State to attract investment in the coming days. Mr. Yasuda said the team would try to promote the State among the leading companies in Japan and to re-establish good relations between India and Japan once they return. According to him, the State, with its beautiful beaches and natural beauty, was not getting the adequate promotion in Japan to attract tourists. The visit was being coordinated by the India Centre Foundation in Tokyo, Japan, as part of their efforts to strengthen strategic partnership between India and Japan. Apart from Mr. Yasuda, the delegation comprise Chiaki Ueda, Hiromichi Kajiwara, Toshiaki Baba, Mitsuhiro Fukagai, Katsuya Miura and Noriyuki Maruoka. The delegation, which comprises top officials of leading companies in Japan, will visit Technopark on Friday before returning. Welcoming the guests at a meeting held at the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), the Industries Minister, P. K. Kunhalikutty, said the relations that existed between India and Japan in the past should be re-established. He explained to the delegation the advantages the State had to attract investment. The KSIDC Chairman, T. K. A. Nair, the Managing Director, Jiji Thomson and the Principal Secretary, Industries, John Mathai, were among those who attended the meeting.
