Police stations get connected through CID website

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD July 24. Finding a lost vehicle is perhaps easier for the police than locating the recovered vehicle due to lack of proper communication facilities between police stations across the State.

However, now a vehicle stolen in Anantapur district and recovered and lying in a remote police station of Srikakulam district, can be located by the concerned officer of Ananthapur district, thanks to the newly created website of the Criminal Investigation Department of the A.P. Police.

The site - www.cidap.gov.in - has a host of information regarding the missing vehicles in the State and those recovered and lying in different police stations. The information contains the make, registration number, chassis number and the police station where it is presently lying, along with the contact number. This would not only help officers and the common man easy to locate the lost vehicles but also approach them immediately.

The Additional DG, CID, M.L. Kumawat, said the site also contains information on the most wanted criminals along with their photos and history. This would be of immense help to the police of other states to keep an eye on the wanted criminals. Mr. Kumawat said they are also planning to link the site to popular portals.

Other information that can be accessed at the click of the mouse is the list of missing persons, unidentified bodies, white collar crimes and the crime record of the State. People can also get assistance on precautions to be taken while taking up foreign jobs and financial institutions rejected by the RBI.
