Megha-Trail duo in quarterfinals

NEW DELHI JULY 24. The second-seeded Megha Vakharia and Jacqueline Trail beat Rochelle Goldthreate and Katie McGlennen of the U.S. 6-3, 6-4 to make it to the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF women's tennis tournamentin Evansville, United States.

The Indo-U.S. pair will meet qualifiers Audra Falk and Aleke Tsoubanos of the U.S. in the second round.

In singles, however, the fifth-seeded Megha lost 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 4-6 to qualifier Kristin Cargill of the U.S. in the first round.

Meanwhile, in the $50,000 Challenger tournament in Lexington, Nirupama Sanjeev lost rather tamely, 0-6, 1-6 to qualifier Lauren Kalvaria of the U.S. in the first round.
