Spurt in ACC's PAT

MUMBAI
JULY 24.
The Associated Cement Companies has recorded a sharp rise in its profit after tax at Rs. 44.14 crores for the first quarter ended June 30, 2003 against Rs. 19.84 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The profit, before interest, depreciation and taxation, has improved to Rs. 141.6 crores from Rs. 103.65 crores.
The company recorded a net sales of Rs. 962.31 crores against Rs. 881.33 crores with continuing emphasis on cost reduction.
Other income amounted to Rs. 18.86 crores (Rs. 7.97 crores).
