Terror threat still exists: Saudi Minister

RIYADH July 24. The danger of terrorism still exists in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Interior Minister said in comments published today, two days after Saudi authorities announced the arrest of 16 Al-Qaeda terror suspects who had stockpiled a huge arsenal and were preparing truck bombs.

``We cannot deny the existence of danger in any city in the kingdom,'' Prince Nayef said in remarks published in the daily Al-Yaum. Prince Nayef said all 16 were Saudis, and the arrests brought to 240 the number of suspects detained in the crackdown that followed May 12 suicide bombings in Riyadh that killed 25 people and nine attackers.

He said the 16 were linked to the 19 men involved in the May 12 attacks, but did not include any of those 19. Ten of the 19 Riyadh suspects remain at large— AP
