Speaking after inaugurating a panel discussion organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ladies Organisation (FLO) on "Bhagidari'' here, Ms. Dikshit said such frequent interaction will help the Government function more efficiently. Highlighting the need for greater transparency and better modes of governance, the Chief Minister said: "We have to become more open, we have to work through partnership measures like e- governance. Every citizen has been awarded the Right to Information.'' This new scheme will make it mandatory for officers to share information that a citizen might ask for either by providing it immediately or buying time of a maximum of 30 days if the same is not available at that instant. An erring officer found guilty of breaching the provision of the scheme would have to face a penalty of Rs. 1,000, she added.
