Five trains cancelled

TIRUPATI July 15. The SC railway has cancelled five trains between Tirupati and Renigunta stations in the Guntakal division from July 14 to 20, to facilitate completion of the non-interlocked working of the signalling system in the section.

The trains are 6351/6352 Nagercoil-Tirupati express and 6353/6354 Mumbai CST-Tirupati express, 6360 Rajendranagar-Ernakulam express, 439/440 Tirupati-Ongole-Tirupati passenger, 195/196 Tirupati-Arakkonam-Tirupati passenger. The trains would originate and terminate at Renigunta only.

However, on July 20, the Nagercoil Express, Mumbai CST Express and Ernakulam-Rajendranagar Express would be dealt at Tirupati only. The 8440 Tirupati-Puri Express leaving Tirupati at 14.50 hrs had been rescheduled to leave at 16.30 on July 19.

Exgratia enhanced

The South Central Railway has enhanced the ex-gratia payable to the kin of P. Mani, diesel assistant, Guntakal division, who lost his life on duty when the ill-fated Pakala-Bellary passenger derailed between Madanapalle and Tummanamgutta stations in the early hours of July 6.
